Gboyega Emmanuel Abikoye is a Professor of Clinical Psychology at University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, where he is the current Director of Academic Planning. With twenty-five unbroken years of academic and professional experience across several national and international institutions, Professor Abikoye is highly reputed as a seasoned researcher, clinician, academic and administrator. His research interests cover substance abuse / addiction and psychological underpinning of social issues. He has successfully supervised 12 PhD theses. He has won and successfully executed several grants and sponsored research. Prof. Abikoye is a National Master Trainer on the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) Mental Health Gap Action Plan (mhGAP). He was the Immediate Past General Secretary and the Current Secretary of the Board of Trustees of ISSUP Nigeria. He is also the Deputy Director at the Center for Research and Information on Substance Abuse (CRISA), and Regional Editor (West Africa) of African Journal of Drugs and Alcohol Studies. Prof. Abikoye is the Immediate Past President of NACP. He is happily married and the marriage is blessed with children.
